IELTS Band Score Calculator
This calculator helps determine the overall IELTS band score based on the individual scores entered for each module: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. The overall band score is calculated by taking the average of these four section scores. Each section is scored on a scale from 0 to 9, in half-band increments (e.g., 6.0, 6.5, 7.0).
To calculate the final band score, raw scores from the Listening and Reading sections are converted into band scores using official IELTS conversion tables. These sections are scored based on the number of correct answers out of 40. The Writing and Speaking sections are assessed by certified IELTS examiners, using clearly defined criteria such as coherence and cohesion, grammatical accuracy, lexical resource, and pronunciation.
The tables and information below explain in detail how the band score is calculated for each module, whether it's based on the number of correct answers in Listening and Reading, or the examiner's evaluation in Speaking and Writing.
