✍️ IELTS Writing Test
The IELTS Writing Test assesses your ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English. It plays a vital role in both the Academic and General Training versions of the exam and is designed to evaluate how well you can organize ideas, present arguments, and use accurate grammar and vocabulary.
🕒 Total Duration: 60 minutes
Task 1 (20 minutes recommended):
Academic: Describe visual data (e.g., chart, graph, table, or diagram).
General Training: Write a letter (formal, semi-formal, or informal).
Task 2 (40 minutes recommended):
Essay writing based on a given topic or argument. This task carries more weight in scoring.
Task 1
In the Academic version, you will describe or summarize visual information (like charts, graphs, or diagrams).
In the General Training version, you will write a letter in response to a given situation (formal, semi-formal, or informal).
Minimum 150 words
Suggested time: 20 minutes
Task 2
Both versions ask you to write an essay in response to a question or argument.
You’ll need to present and support your opinion using clear reasoning and examples.
Minimum 250 words
Suggested time: 40 minutes
